The Day of Wrath

God is Love, and our age celebrates this fact, but it is not the entirety of the eternal equation.

This is an excellent and even amusing video on the Dies Irae, which you may have seen online, and if not you likely have a version of the music in your Gregorian Chant playlist.  It’s a song about the Day of Wrath, which persists throughout the history of music, winding in and out of your life when you probably least expect it.

It is deeply Catholic to consider the day of your death as a way of assessing whether you have done enough in your life.  This bit of music is a reminder that your momento mori approaches whether you care to notice that fact or not.

And while God may be love, how you respond to that love during your time here makes all the difference in the world.
